Kate Swan

Artistic Director

Kate Swan begins her tenure as Artistic Director of 4th Wall Theatre having directed The Wild Party and Sweeney Todd in Concert and choreographed The Life last season. As a director and choreographer, Kate has worked extensively across the US in such theatres as Merry-Go-Round Playhouse, Fireside Theatre, Seacoast Repertory, Lyric Stage (Texas), Lyric Theatre of Oklahoma, Surflight Theatre, Broadway Palm Dinner Theatre, Wings Theatre in Manhattan, and Skyline Theatre Company, where she also serves as a board member. As a performer, Kate appeared in the original Broadway company and 1st National tour of Disney's Beauty and the Beast; she became Associate Choreographer for all official Disney productions of the show worldwide through 2008, setting companies in Mexico City, Seoul, Sao Paulo, the United Kingdom, and the United States. She has taught musical theatre dance and musical theatre history at the high school and college levels, including at Purdue University and Muhlenberg College. She has a Bachelor's Degree in Theatre from Northwestern University and is a member of the Stage Directors and Choreographers Society.
